Join Jennifer and 5 other knitting enthusiasts as we break down barriers and make your very own Ranunculus sweater, the ever popular and oh-so-gorgeous design by Midori Knit Cafe.
In this workshop
Learn how easy and accessible top-down sweater knitting really is! With Jennifer as your guide, surrounded by other yarnies and sweater beginners just like you, you will learn tips, tricks and master new stitches in a fun and relaxed environment.
Structure & Content of the Workshop
Pre-Session: Choosing your yarn, your tools and notions.
Session 1: Addressing barriers to success & cast-on.
Session 2: German short rows, Yoke.
Session 3: Raglan, Divide for body & Sleeves, Body.
Session 4: Long Sleeve, Diagonal cuff line & BO. Blocking & caring for your garment.
Crafty Session: Come craft and show off your FO!
COST: R800 for the workshop. Maximum 6 people per workshop. Only payment in full secures your spot.
Format: In person. At The Yarn Room, Pretoria.
2 GROUPS/DAYS are available:
Pre-session: By individual appointment before the commencement of the workshop.
Friday Sessions in MAY & JUNE [9 AM to 12 PM]: 6th, 13th, 20th May & 3rd June
Saturdays Sessions in MAY & JUNE [9 AM to 12 PM]: 7th, 14th, 21st May & 4th June.
Crafty Session: Saturday 11th June. 10AM to 2PM.
Appropriate for: crafters that are comfortable with the Knit & Purl stitch.
Includes: The Pattern (in digital format) & Workshop notes. Tea, Coffee and cookies will be served. NO PATTERN SHARING ALLOWED.
Excludes: Yarn, Tools and Notions required. If you choose to purchase your goodies from us, you will receive a 10% discount. (One per person, applicable for only one purchase transaction).
KEEP IN MIND:
During the sessions, the focus will be on interactive learning. We will be practicing stitches in order to build your confidence and to allow you to work on the actual garment at your own pace. The emphasis will be on the experience and the skills you require to succeed.
If you are end product focused, consider that this may not be the workshop for you. You are welcome to book individual sessions with Jennifer for expedited learning.
