Musings on missing Yannik

I think some of you saw on a social media post earlier in the year that Yannik was part of The Yarn Room from February when we moved our base of operations to Highveld Park in Centurion.

The not so nice part of being in a building that you share with others, is that their complaining does impact you. And when they can’t see that your adorable dog is a guide-dog in training, then you must phone the Guide-Dog Association to tell them that your pup is not allowed anymore.

Yannik was my mate, especially in the days after Josephina left and before Aniska or Angela started here. He was always very welcoming toward clients and was so intrigued with Leah’s little Alice.

Yannik did have some furry friends here too. Delton, also a Guide-dog pup, spent some time here. Luke, Angela’s dachshund, was in a terrible accident and recuperated here when Angela did her magic with sales. Linus, a fully trained working Autism Support dog was here too when his family was away, and he could not go with.

So, Yannik is with a lovely family that assist with his final preparation before he will be called in for formal training. The level of cuteness here, however, is not the same. We try…
